What is Reiki?
The Japanese word Reiki means “Universal Life Energy”. Reiki is a spiritual healing practice designed to balance subtle spiritual energy “chi”, reduce stress and anxiety, and promote relaxation. The National Institute Of Health says “Reiki is a complementary health approach in which practitioners place their hands lightly on or just above a person, with the goal of facilitating the person’s own healing response. Reiki is based on an Eastern belief in an energy that supports the body’s innate or natural healing abilities. Reiki has been studied for a variety of conditions, including pain, anxiety, fatigue, and depression.” (From: https://nccih.nih.gov/health/reiki/introduction.htm#hed2. Accessed 8/11/2016)
Many people describe Reiki as being similar to meditation for its relaxing effects. REI = Higher Power, Wisdom and KI – Life Force Energy. The balance of our energy may be disrupted by stressful situations, resulting in tension, discomfort and even pain. Practitioners intend to improve energy flow, relaxing the client in order to enhance wellness. Reiki aims to restore the balance of the subtle energy of the body, the metaphysical realm, to promote innate healing through your higher spiritual connection and awareness. Reiki nurtures your connection to Spirit, bringing the benefits of relaxation with compassion, Light and Love to your Being.
What To Expect From A Reiki Session
As a Reiki client, one may choose to recline comfortably or sit in a chair, fully clothed. The Reiki practitioner places her hands non-intrusively on the client, either lightly touching or just above the body in a selected sequence of positions. While the practitioner works, she may move her hands to various body regions based on her assessment of the client’s needs. Clients just relax and enjoy the peaceful breathing and guidance of spirit during Reiki. One may chat or simply relax during the session. It is refreshing!
How Many Reiki Sessions are advised?
A single session may bring a deep sense of relaxation and connection to spirit. Additional sessions will contribute to a deeper sense of harmony and peace. Consult your Reiki practitioner to discuss the most beneficial schedule for you. We recommend following your intuition when deciding on the number and frequency of your Reiki sessions. Reiki practitioners typically perform daily self-treatment. Learn how to perform Reiki for yourself and your loved ones: sign up for our classes on Reiki 1.
Reiki is not a substitute for medical care. If you have any health issues you should see your licensed medical provider or physician. Reiki practitioners will not diagnose or recommend any form of treatment. Reiki is a wonderful complement to your medical or alternative forms of treatment. It is especially important during stressful times, decisions-making, challenges, illness, and when transitioning.
Help Your Body Heal Itself
As a complement to traditional medical care, Reiki may provide the relaxation and centering effect of meditation, to facilitate your journey to health and well-being. For information on the latest evidence-based research, visit https://nccih.nih.gov/health/reiki/introduction.htm#hed2.
How much will it cost?
An investment in Reiki is an investment in your multidimensional well-being. Choose session durations of 45 mins. up to 2 hours. Sessions range in price depending on the time.

I have known Theresa for 25 years since she first studied with me in the 1980’s. Not only is she devoted to learning and mastering a wide spectrum of hands-on techniques to best help her patients/clients to heal, she is also devoted to her own internal growth … she walks her talk. I have a deep respect for her work.
