MFR2: Myofascial Release Level 2 with Craniosacral Therapy
COURSE DESCRIPTION

MFR Level 2 is an intensive hands-on course in assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal imbalances that influence posture, movement, and function. MFR2 expands on concepts of MFR1, and includes a review of principles to enable those who did not take MFR1 to participate successfully. MFR2 emphasizes assessment and treatment of the three dimensional transverse fascial planes, and the fascial relationships of the cranium, extremities and trunk. Introductory craniosacral releases are covered, including sacrum, frontal, parietal, temporal, occipital, sphenoidal and mandibular releases. The application of compression and distraction to facilitate motion is taught, with attention to the extremities and trunk. Special evaluation techniques using general and local listening are introduced, including palpation of craniosacral rhythm. Emphasis will be on restoring balanced fascial tension, posture and efficient mobility using direct and indirect fascial release and craniosacral therapy techniques. The concept of interacting with the body tissues to facilitate a change is emphasized, rather than imposing movement upon the system. MFR and CST are used to treat a variety of diagnoses in people of all ages, to achieve outstanding functional results. Make your practice extraordinary. This is an outstanding course for the development of your Myofascial skills!

LEARNING OUTCOMES

What You Will Learn:
  1. Describe fascial anatomy and function of the transverse fascial planes in normal and pathological conditions.
  2. Perform evaluation of regional and local mobility to identify fascial restrictions, using general and local listening skills and craniosacral rhythm palpation.
  3. Identify indications and contraindications for myofascial release and craniosacral therapy.
  4. Interact therapeutically with the fascial structures to assess and treat motion restrictions using myofascial release and craniosacral therapy techniques.
  5. Apply craniosacral therapy releases to the extremities, transverse planes, cranium and sacrum.
  6. Assess cranial bone mobility by palpating craniosacral rhythm.
  7. Perform craniosacral therapy releases for the frontal, parietal, temporal, occipital, sacrum, and mandibular bones.
  8. Perform myofascial release and craniosacral therapy techniques to release fascial restrictions in the spine and extremities, to improve movement, posture, comfort, and function.
